Slumber

Slumber is an on going project investigating the connection between social progress and destruction. As I sped by the scenes displayed for this project I decided to stop and photograph what is normally passed by or ignored. The animals are somber and have the appearance of being asleep. The animals are photographed in the quiet and surrendered state i found them in post the great violence they suffered. The series is not advocating a return to the natural world that once was but my own investigation into what I leave in the wake of my own personal progress. The interplay of contradiction in the titles and the work or the visual elements themselves represent the uncertainty of art. Or photography as a medium. Or will, I hope, cause uncertainty in the viewer.
